Friday 20th trappings

After a bright sunny day the trap was brought out to see what we could find in the garden (I had my boys joining me) however it was quite windy over night so the numbers were low again. Only ten moths in total (7 Macro, 3 Micro, although all micros flew before ID):
  • Knot Grass – 1 (New for me)
  • Vines Rustic – 1
  • Orange Footman – 1 (new for me)
  • Common swift – 2
  • Pug sp. – 1 (unidentified, very worn)
  • Dark Arches – 1 (new for me, seems very early?)
Three great new species, the very striking Orange Footman being one I have wanted to see for a while (so quite chuffed) and the very early Dark Arches, a moth I thought was on the wing July onwards?
