200 species in the garden

I have just broken the 200 mark for moth species caught in my current garden (and 200 for the year), I had three new species in the trap this morning and I couldn't be happier.

The humidity is sky high at the moment, I only have to leave my house and I feel damp, and that usually means good numbers of moths out and about (in fact I heard of someone catching well over 100 on Saturday night), the only down side was that last night was quite clear, but it still produced the moths, and as mentioned earlier three new species, The tiny Garden Rose Tortix, and two bright yellow/orange beuties in Barred Sallow and Pink Barred Sallow.

In total I had 43 moths of 15 species in the garden trap, not bad for a clear September night (I don't think), I'm really glad I am still trapping (I've usually quit for the year by now) as the new species keep coming. Anyway onto the list:

Light Brown Apple Moth  10
Garden Rose Tortrix  1 NFM
Common Marbled Carpet  2
Brimstone Moth  1
Large Yellow Underwing  10
Lesser Yellow Underwing  7
Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing  1
Setaceous Hebrew Character  1
Square-spot Rustic  4
Lunar Underwing  1
Barred Sallow  1 NFM
Pink-barred Sallow  1 NFM
Copper Underwing  1
Silver Y  1
The Snout  1

A few singles but over all not a bad total and some stunning ones as you will see from the photos:
